ANNUAL SECURITY REPORT & POLICY
Atlas Academy collects campus crime statistics and prepares a report for all students, employees, and potential students to review. A hard copy may be requested at any time from Administration and can be found on the school website.
ALCOHOL & DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION
Atlas Academy strictly prohibits the use, possession, or distribution of alcohol and illegal drugs on school premises or during school-sponsored events, in accordance with federal law. Students and employees may not be under the influence of any substances including prescription or over-the-counter drugs if it impairs their ability to function professionally or safely. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal or termination, and potential referral to law enforcement. Information on counseling and rehabilitation services is available in the student breakroom.
ADA ACCOMODATIONS
Accommodations for Disabilities Applicants, who are persons with disabilities, as defined under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, may apply for admittance into the program. Atlas Academy will work with the applicant or student to provide necessary academic adjustments. Students seeking accommodations must submit a written request to administration upon acceptance into their program.
EDUCATIONAL RECORDS
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA guarantees students and/or parent/legal guardians of dependent minors the right to access and review the student’s educational file.
NON-DISCRIMINATION
Atlas Academy of Cosmetology is committed to providing an environment free of sexual or any form of unlawful discrimination. A policy of nondiscrimination regarding students on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, financial status, veteran status, religion, or any other protected characteristic has been put in place. Reports of discriminatory behavior should be made to school administration. Such conduct by or towards any students, employee, guest, or any other patron of Atlas Academy of Cosmetology will not be tolerated.
VACCINATION POLICY
Atlas Academy does not require vaccinations for admission into the programs. Students interested in getting more information about vaccinations, should contact the local public health department or a health care provider.
